“BLOWING IN THE WIND” DOUG BOGEN ON THE POTENTIAL FOR OFFSHORE WIND TO POWER NEW HAMPSHIRE

October 29, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

A vision for a more sustainable future has been coming into focus in the past few years here in New England. This slide presentation will provide a look at the huge potential of offshore wind power, which could transform our region’s power system and create thousands of green jobs for the region’s economy in the coming decades. That vision involves the installation of hundreds of huge floating offshore wind turbines, which both the U.S. Department of Energy and the State of Maine calculate could feasibly provide most of the electric power our fuel-poor region needs within a couple decades. The presentation by Doug Bogan, The Seacoast Anti-Pollution League executive director, will lay out the reasons for this transformation and next steps needed to make it happen, as well as current projects in this region laying the foundation for building a sustainable energy future.

Doug Bogen fought for at least 10 years to get NH to consider Offshore Wind. Finally, we are on the verge of seeing it actually happen. We are SO lucky that he’s coming to Keene to share the vision and the knowledge that kept him going all these years! Please join us in the auditorium at the Keene Library on October 29th at 6 PM.
